Lepet derived from the word "lepat" or "escape" in the Java language, which means error.
This dish is often made on Eid rhombus or seventh day of Eid. The food is made from glutinous rice and grated coconut wrapped in coconut leaves and then boiled. Usually the contents of lepet coupled with Peanut Tolo but now it dikreasikan with jackfruit or bananas added according to taste.
Interestingly there is a story behind this food. Younger people send lepet along Ketupat to older family homes, for example, is used as a symbol ibu.Makanan apology then called lepet.
